Sources for the government information we publish

The official government sources behind every duty scale, scheme cap, tax rate and lending rule used in GNT Finance calculators, guides and apps.

GNT Finance and Mortgage is a private mortgage broker. This app is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any government entity, and it is not a government service. Government information shown here — figures, rules and legal requirements alike — is reproduced from the official sources listed below; always confirm the current position with the relevant agency before you act.

Our calculators and guides reproduce figures set by Australian federal, state and territory agencies — duty scales, scheme price caps, tax rates and prudential rules. Every one of them is listed below with the agency that publishes it, so you can check the current rule yourself. Government figures change, sometimes mid-year and sometimes without notice, and the version that applies to you is the one in force on the date of your contract or assessment.

Where a figure on this site disagrees with the agency, the agency is right. Tell us and we will correct it.

What this page is not

We are a mortgage broker, not a government agency, and nothing here is an official government publication. We hold no authority to grant, refuse or administer any government scheme, concession or grant. Eligibility for a scheme is decided by the agency that runs it and by the participating lender, never by us.

Our calculators return estimates on stated assumptions, not offers, quotes or approvals. For advice on your own situation, talk to us, and for the current rules always check the agency directly using the links above.
